ArcGIS 10.8.2 is the current version of ArcMap and the last version to be supported until March 1, 2024 entering its mature support phase, and retiring in 2026. There are no plans to release an ArcMap 10.9, the Esri team is fully focused on a new era of GIS with ArcGIS Pro.
You can continue to use ArcMap as long as you have a valid license. Please note that development efforts are focused on ArcGIS Pro.
